Over 100 Connecticut Lawyers Endorse Chris Mattei for Attorney General
Hartford, CT – Today, the Mattei for CT campaign announced the release of an endorsement letter signed by more than one hundred attorneys from across the state, indicating the legal community’s strong support for Mattei as the most qualified candidate for Attorney General. The letter, written by retired New Haven Probate Judge Jack Keyes, highlights Mattei’s career of fighting injustice, his deep sense of fairness and integrity, and his extensive experience leading public interest lawyers in court.
“It is unusual that 100 attorneys agree on anything, but, on this, we agree: If there was one lawyer we could choose to defend us and our families as Attorney General in this uncertain time, it would be Chris Mattei,” wrote Judge Keyes in the letter. “Our courts have always been the refuge for the vulnerable, the abused and the powerless. That is especially true now. And, that is why Connecticut needs an Attorney General who has dedicated his career to the rule of law and fighting the abuse of power. That is what Chris Mattei has done, and that is why he is the only candidate we trust to fight for the people of Connecticut as our Attorney General.”
“I am humbled to receive this overwhelming support from Connecticut’s legal community, which recognizes the importance of having an experienced Attorney General representing our state in some of the most difficult legal battles of our time,” said Mattei. “As an Assistant United States Attorney, I led investigations and prosecutions of powerful individuals and companies that abused their power, and I am the only candidate with the experience necessary to stand up to the Trump administration in court and defend vulnerable communities across our state.”
