Hartford, CT – Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin will announce his endorsement of former Assistant United States Attorney Chris Mattei for Attorney General on Tuesday morning at a media availability in Hartford.

He joins Mayor Anwar Saud of South Windsor, First Selectman Matt Hoey of Guilford, First Selectman and State Senator Cathy Osten of Sprague, First Selectman Sandra Pierog of Bolton, Mayor Don Trinks of Windsor, and Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu of Bristol as municipal executives who are supporting Chris Mattei.

“Chris Mattei has the values and the experience to be an outstanding Attorney General,” said Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin.  “I’ve known Chris a long time, and I trust him to fight every day for the people of Connecticut. In these challenging times for our state and our country, leadership and experience matter. We need leaders who can restore the public’s faith in our government and who have the will and ability to fight the difficult fights. Whether it’s standing up to the Trump administration’s reckless policies or protecting consumers from fraud, Chris will be able to hit the ground running, and I’m proud to endorse him.”

“Mayor Luke Bronin is working every day to build a vibrant and strong Hartford by leading with a bold and honest vision for the future,” said Mattei. “In this uncertain time, Hartford and communities around our state need an Attorney General who knows how to stand up for them in court. I look forward to working with Mayor Bronin, as we take on the Trump agenda that is eroding our institutions and threatening the values of hard working families across Connecticut.”
